The biggest flaw in standard WordPress development is the overuse of Custom Post Types. Legacy developers store every booking, contact, and transaction in the default wp_postmeta table. I bypass this entirely. For heavy operations like CRMs, learning management systems, and booking engines, I architect entirely custom InnoDB database tables with strict indexing.
That’s why I never use custom post types in my plugins. Whether I build one for you or you use one of mine, your data lives in custom tables made for it. Add a few busy plugins on top of postmeta and a query that should take milliseconds takes seconds.
